At Artisan Hair Transplant, Scott Barnes can be available to consult with patients to review desired shapes and ideals. During your consult, the blueprints for the most stunning shaped brows and brow growth directions will be marked by Scott Barnes for Dr. Neavin and his highly skilled eyebrow transplant team to follow. Once the brows are marked, the team will proceed with the eyebrow transplant often inserting up to 400 follicles (hairs) per eyebrow to create superdense, full, and even “bushy” brows if so desired. With the addition of hair to the brow, arches can be raised or flattened to achieve either the high arch sexy look, or newer lower, full and bushy brow that has gained popularity over the last couple of years.
About eyebrow transplantation
Eyebrow transplantation (or eyebrow implants) refers to the transfer of hair from the back of the head to the eyebrow to restore brow fullness or modify the shape. The procedure is performed using NeoGraft technology, an advanced method of follicular unit extraction. The extraction of hairs is performed in an identical fashion as it is for a hair transplantation. The procedure differs in the following ways:
The hairs used for the eyebrow are harvested at the lower neck to provide thinner hair to more closely match eyebrow hair.
The follicles implanted are single hairs (whereas many of the follicles in a hair transplant are multiple hair follicles)
The hairs transplanted have different properties than the recipient site hairs. Whereas on the scalp the hairs will all grow at a similar rate and length, the brow hairs and transplanted head hairs may grow at slightly different rates and the scalp hairs will grow much longer (like regular hairs)
After the procedure, it may take up to a year for all of the follicles to produce hairs. The hairs will need to be groomed as the transplanted hairs will continue to grow beyond the native eyebrow hairs.
